Carry a large caseload to include the most serious crimes including crimes of violence, gun possession and use, sexual offenses and robbery/burglary offenses

Prepared eleven (11) annual financial budgets for the District Attorney’s Office for the Livingston County Board of Supervisors, remaining fiscally responsible and under budget each year

Supervise and hired staff of ten (10) experienced employees to include six (6) Assistant District Attorneys, three (3) support staff and one (1) part-time investigator

Original founding member of the Livingston County Drug Task Force in October 2012

Spent over nine (9) months preparing county compliance and presenting to all law enforcement agencies and first responders on Bail and Discovery Reform that became effective in 2020, laws which radically changed NYS criminal justice

Led County law enforcement efforts to comply with Criminal Justice Reform of 2020, which significantly altered criminal discovery and bail eligible offenses

Frequently lecture and appear at public functions, schools and forums to describe the roll of the District Attorney’s Office and educate our community

Major Trials and Convictions as Livingston County’s District Attorney

Personally conducted over twenty (20) felony jury trials to guilty verdict, including three (3) separate homicides and prosecuted several other homicide cases, including:

  • People v. Danielle Allen, 2018 Manslaughter trial for killing her boyfriend. 
  • People v. Aykut Ozkaynak, 2017 Murder trial for the killing and burning of Patrice Miller
  • People v. Zachary McCaa, 2023 Murder trial for killing his two-and-half month-old son
  • People v. Gary Flemke, 2014 Murder plea for shooting and burning his wife
  • People v. Steven Adams, 2022 Murder plea for killing his roommate Dale Ryerse

Conducted numerous trials involving Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child and other sex offenses

  • People v. John Litolff, 2023 Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree where he was sentenced to 25 to life for raping and sexually assaulting a 10 year-old girl
  • People v. Christopher Wilmet, 2023 Rape in the Second Degree  trial where he was sentenced to seventeen years to life for raping a fourteen year old girl
  • People v. Philip Pang, 2021 Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree and Sexual Abuse in the First Degree where he was sentenced to thirteen years for a sexual attack at SUNY Geneseo that occurred in 2014 but was reported in 2020
  • People v. John Fleming, 2015 Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child trial where he was sentenced to ten years to life for sexual offenses against a thirteen-year-old girl
  • People v. Frederick Symonds, 2014 Criminal Sexual Act and Incest trial for sexually assaulting family member

  • People v. Alan Fick, 2014 Burglary and Robbery in the First Degree for home invasion of elderly man where he was sentenced to twenty-four years in prison
  • People v. Jeffrey Lowery, 2014 Failure to Register or Verify as a Sex Offender where due to his lengthy, violent history he was sentenced to fifteen years to life in prison after multiple day sentencing hearing
  • People v. Joseph Machado, 2014 Burglary and Robbery in the First Degree for home invasion and theft from elderly man where he sentenced to maximum
  • People v. Charles Braun, 2015 Kidnapping in the Second Degree, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and Criminal Use of a Firearm where he was sentenced to fifteen years
  • People v. Jason Scott, 2019 Burglary in the Third Degree and Petit Larceny verdict
  • People v. Adrian Alexander, Jr., 2024 trial and conviction for twenty-one (21) counts for domestic violence including multiple felony counts of Assault, Aggravated Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Family Offense
