Conservative Party of Livingston County

“After hearing and weighing the experience, priorities, strengths and weaknesses of each of the candidates, the party chose to endorse the county’s current district attorney, Mr. Greg McCaffrey for re-re-election.

Mr. McCaffrey is now one of the longest tenured district attorneys in the state.  He has been an opponent of bail reform and other misguided criminal justice policies percolating out of Albany.  Mr. McCaffrey offers great appreciation for and understanding of the right to bear arms, while judiciously using the discretion his office is afforded to criminally prosecute those who would do our county residents harm.

District Attorney Greg McCaffrey is a prosecutor’s prosecutor who had made certain that child rapists are brought to justice, and that victims’ rights are protected.

He may well be the last conservative Democrat standing. As the son of a state trooper, he is no stranger to law enforcement, but offers an independent check and accountability that Livingston County voters have chosen in multiple previous elections. Our party remains confident that they will do so again.”

Jason McGuire, Livingston County Conservative Party Chair

“We are proud to support Livingston County District Attorney Greg McCaffrey for another term. For 12 years he has done vital work keeping Livingston County safe and upholding the rule of law. Livingston County will be fortunate to have him continue to serve us for another four years.”

Judith Hunter
Chair, Livingston County Democratic Committee
Chair, Democratic Rural Conference of New York State

The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers, Inc. is proud to announce the endorsement of Greg McCaffrey for Livingston County District Attorney.

During his tenure as the Livingston County District Attorney, Greg McCaffrey has been a strong supporter of Troopers and law enforcement officers. Greg McCaffrey has proven himself as a tough prosecutor who makes special efforts to support and seek justice for crime victims. Greg McCaffrey has the experience and motivation necessary to continue to serve as the Livingston County District Attorney.

It is with careful consideration that the PBA is endorsing Greg McCaffrey in the election for Livingston County District Attorney. The challenges facing members of the law enforcement community are greater than ever before, and we need individuals like Greg McCaffrey in leadership positions to help law enforcement officers better serve the residents of New York state.

The Honorable Joanne Winslow, Supreme Court Judge (retired)

As a person with a long background as a prosecutor before taking the bench, I am well aware that it is DA’s job to prosecute crimes based on the laws passed by the legislature — whether they agree with them personally or not. This is the job of the District Attorney.
District Attorney Greg McCaffrey understands his job.  He does his job.  Experience matters.  Results matter.
I urge you to join me in voting for District Attorney Greg McCaffrey.

Gary Benedict, Jr. Former Chief of Police of Avon and Mt. Morris Police Department

I would like to take this opportunity to endorse Greg McCaffrey as the Livingston County District Attorney. I have known Greg his entire life and known him to be a very honest and hard-working individual, which he has brought to the District Attorney’s Office since 2012 when he was first elected to the office. During my 10 years as the prior Chief of Police in the Villages of Avon and Mount Morris, Greg was always willing to assist us with prosecuting our cases and was instrumental in developing the Livingston County Drug Task Force, which targeted drug dealers in Livingston County. With the recent changes in New York State law (Bail Reform Act Criminal Justice Reform) that make it very difficult to prosecute criminals in New York State, Greg and his office have done a great job of prosecuting cases and getting convictions during these difficult times. I believe with Greg’s 12 years of experience as Livingston County’s District Attorney he is uniquely qualified to remain Livingston County’s District Attorney.
